The Will Smith Charitable Foundation was founded in 2007 after the death of eight year
old Will Smith in a horrific automobile accident on Maui. The mission of The Will
Smith Charitable Foundation is to locate the need and provide the means of giving
positive life experiences to children through art, music, sports, safety and acts of
compassion. Will was a tremendously caring and giving person for someone his age.
The foundation members use his spirit of giving as template to help others.
Grant Proposal Eligibility Criteria
• U.S. based organizations with a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) designation for charitable purposes that focus on providing for children up to age 17.
• Organizations that do not discriminate based on race, color, national origin,citizenship status, creed, religion, religious affiliation, gender, martial status,sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or any other protected status under applicable law.
• Organizations with religious affiliations will be considered for funding only if the project for which they seek support attempts to address the needs of the wider community without regard to religious beliefs.Application Process

• Please allow 3-4 weeks for review. During the review process, someone from the foundation will reach out tot he contact on the application for a phone interview.Application Checklist
• Item A: A detailed line-item budget for the project (that includes details on how the foundation's funding would be used)
• Item B: A budget narrative for the project (explanation of the project that the budget is covering)
• Item C: A copy of your organization's current overall operating budget
• Item D: Board of Directors list that includes members' professional affiliations
• Item E: Evidence of tax-exempt status
