5k & 10k

Join The Will Smith Foundation in Waring for the annual Volksmarch, a fine old German tradition of visiting friends and neighbors with food and water stops dotting the way along the 5 and 10k routes through the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

The Volksmarch starts at 8 AM at the Waring Volunteer Fire Hall where breakfast will be served at the end of the walk.  WSF walkers please be present by 7:45 AM.  This is NOT a race, everyone walks at his or her own pace and enjoys the camaraderie and scenery.  Each walker is asked to get sponsors (sponsor sheet attached) and bring the pledge form and money the morning of the walk and give to Susan Moulton. The Will Smith Foundation will cover walker's entry fee and everyone walking for WSF will receive a foundation t-shirt.  Prizes will be awarded to the adult and kid (18 and under) that raises the most money.

DIRECTIONS FROM SAN ANTONIO:


Take IH10 Westbound approximately 40+ miles, exit #533 (Welfare Exit), and continue west on the access road.  You will see PoPo's Restaurant on your right and the road will then fork.  Take the fork to the right and turn right again at the "T" (this is the Waring-Welfare Road).  Continue approximately 6 miles and you will end up in "downtown Waring" (a 4-way stop sign).
